Iconic Texas Longhorn grazing
Where to see longhorns with really long horns:
George Ranch near Richmond off 59.
There are some at Houston Farm and Ranch in Bear Creek Park too, but they are not as majestic.

The LH7 Brand - Texas Longhorn Cattle Ranch once operated in Barker, Texas
George Bush Park was once part of a large cattle ranch.
Much of the ranch land later became Barker Reservoir, built to hold back water from heavy rains upstream to prevent flooding downstream in the City of Houston.
The site of the Marks LH7 Ranch buildings today has a historical marker to commemorate its glorious past. Even the Houston Rodeo has its roots here.

What does a cattleguard look like?
Here is an example of an original one, albeit rendered useless because the cattle have been banned from what is now Barker Reservoir.
But there is also a restaurant by that name, and it is not even far away from this location -- Cattleguard Restaurant on Highway 6 North of Katy Freeway. It has a duck on wheels (a relic from long-gone Astroworld) sitting in the parking lot, rather then a stuffed longhorn, not to mention a Buffalo.
