Great Suburban Sunsets

Just after sunset in Barker Reservoir (added March 2013)

Who said you have to leave the city to partake of the awe-inspiring spectacle of the sun setting over a glittering lake or disappearing behind a dizzying mesh of trees jutting out over the horizon, wrapping them into an eerie glow. Whatever your opinion of George Bush, the elder, the park in West Houston named after the former Houston Congressman and President has a lot to offer in the scenic vistas department.

Bush Park wasn't the sight of wildfires this year, but the setting sun
at times seems to have set the trees on fire all over again.
