State Highway 6 Signage - variations on the road name theme

SH 6 = State Hwy 6 = TEXAS 6 = Texas State Highway 6

Highway 6 has many aliases, not to mention the numerous alternative abbreviations and visual representations on street name signs and directional signs that make you wonder whether it is the same road if you are not a local.

Duck traffic control - Pics of ducks and duck-related warning signs

Ducks are abundant in the West Houston area, and so are signs attempting to cope with the challenges of their presence in a suburban environment, not to mention near or on roads.

A selection:

Duck warning sign for motorists driving through Bear Creek Pioneers Park.

Caution: Duck Traffic across the Road

No swimming or wading allowed in the pond in the Southern part of George Bush Park... unless you are a duck, of course.

Road-side duck control or rather motorist-control to protect the ducks when they get out of the water and waddle across the road.

Nor do these waddling birds just frequent parks, lakes and adjoining roads. Corporate campuses in West Houston are duck and geese habitat too:

Variations of Highway 6 Signage and Texas State Highway Theme Images

Texas 6 - Old State Highway 6 road signage is still up - newer signs show "SH 6"

Katy Freeway (IH 10) in the Energy Corridor - Highway Branding and Signage

The official road signage refers to Interstate 10 as IH 10 in white letters on green sign (see below).

Locally, the stretch West of Houston relevant to the scope of this blog is known as Katy Freeway, and "I-10" is still more commonly used in conversation than "IH 10".
